Accessibility baked in

Alt text isn't an afterthought. It's in the file.

The pictures are the delivery mechanism. The accessibility is the product, made by people who test accessibility for a living.

Alt text, short and long

  • Inside the file

Each SVG carries its description as a title, linked with aria-labelledby, so it travels with the file.
  • One language so far

Alt text is English only today. Other languages are not yet available.

Contrast, checked

  • Measured per colourway

Graphics are checked against WCAG 1.4.11 non-text contrast in each colourway we publish.
  • Light, dark, high contrast and mono

Each is a real setting, not a filter, so the picture holds up in all of them.

Never by colour alone

  • Shape and detail carry meaning

Take the colour away and the picture still says the same thing. Motion has reduced-motion fallbacks, and files that can be mirrored for right-to-left layouts are flagged.

A publish gate

  • Nothing ships without three things

Alt text, a contrast result and a licence. If one is missing, the asset is not published. The final licence text is still to be confirmed.
